The Inside Story of Aloha 'Aina HPDC

The Inside Story of the Aloha 'Aina

By sweat of brow, with openess of heart, with passion of spirit, with the aid of our Jedi allies, and by the grace of angels and Master's on high.... we crossed through the event horizon to produce a most amazing and unique Holistic Permaculture Design Course... an epic event horizon to be remembered and one that will continue to spin and send ripples throughout the waters of our greater collective fields .

In the month leading to the course, situated above the Resonance Project grounds overlooking the Pacific Ocean on recently uncovered land that was a former summer residence and farming ground for the indigenous Hawaiian Royalty... we designed, raised, and created a living village which for 2 1/2 weeks took 40 galactic beings through a powerful portal of profound transformation and activation.

We experimented pushing the edge of the standard Permaculture Design Course Curriculum into one of Holistic Eco-Social Regeneration, incorporating a jam packed full spectrum curriculum including Nature Awareness, Holistic Nutrition, Visionary Stewardship, Heart Circles, Cultural Mentoring, Embodiment Practices, Visionary Art, Inner Work, Unified Field Physics, Music, Spirituality, Hands-on, Rites of Passage, and more.

The course was graced by a wide spectrum of notorious guests and instructors, some of which included veteran permaculture instructors Penny Livinston-Stark & Doug Bullock; master tracker, mentor, and cultural architect Jon Young; veteran Australian permaculture-in-action practitioner Tania Strebl, veteran green business consultant Michael Kramer; powerhouse Hawaiian spiritual teacher Kalani Souza; and next level physicist Nassim Haramein, who for the first time pollinated his physics of universal pattern language into a permaculture design course.

We sang, we danced, we learned, we designed, we implemented, we listened, we shared deeply, we got wet, we got hot, we got tired, we got free fresh Kona coffee grown by the neighbor, we ate amazing food, we laughed, we cried... and we were deeply inspired and transformed from it all.

Each day was a lifetime of lessons, so highlights are fractaly infinite, but to give you a taste of some noteworthy mentions...

* A mind blowing download from Nassim on physics & appropriate technology
* Traditional Hawaiian ceremonies and teachings with Kalani leading to down pours of rain
* Most delicious, nutritious food from an amazing kitchen staff.
* Singing, dancing, and getting muddy planting taro in the rain
* A powerful fire-walk upon the flaming coals of a 100 year old mango tree that climaxed with the releasing of old patterns & garmets alike
* Spontaneous, ecstatic music & kirtan until 4:00 a.m
* Living together as a village and seeing each other shine as the stars we are

Along with leaving a potent ethereal footprint, the course left positive tangible imprints on the agro-forestry site as well, which included: constructing an outdoor kitchen, grey water system, classroom spaces, bamboo shower; digging swales, planting taro, building soil, planting trees, creating permaculture guild gardens, inoculating mushrooms, doing a myco-remediation demonstration, and more.

Course participants also did a community service project helping to design and implement garden beds over the sod lawns of NELHA, the Natural Energy Lab of Hawaii, who were blown away at our enthusiasm and inspired by a public presentation on Urban Permaculture.

Visionary artist Lindy "Dreaming Bear" created a beautiful piece of art tracking the ethereal landscape throughout the duration of the course "using on-site resources", which was presented to Nassim and donated to the Resonance Project.

Amazing designs were produced by the student design teams for a Holistic Living Learning Educational Center, and these designs are being synthesized and offered to the Resonance Project for consideration in the future development of the site.

Deep Gratitude and acknowledgment to the Resonance Project and to our Core Mandala of amazing beings who held this powerful container, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, and who went through the ringer of a portal within the portal: Penny Livingston-Stark Gaius Keala, Kay Cafasso, Bruce Horowitz, Julie Bird, Laura Fox, Lauren Thomas & Steve Sakala ... to all of our special guests... to our most galactic participants... and to the host of other people who were contributing behind the scenes.

And deep thanks to everyone else behind the scenes of the scenes who contributed time, energy, resources, and magical workings to help make this course happen.

We definitely felt the support.

Deep Bows of Gratitude, Remembrance, & Co-Inspiration,

-Jay Ma

What is Permaculture?

Permaculture is a holistic design philosophy and the art and science of creating community eco-systems in which plants, animals, human beings, and all forms of ecological diversity interact to produce a prolific, ecologically-sound, and regenerative system that can support itself and life indefinitely. The focus of permaculture is to design and establish societal systems that provide for humanity’s material and non-material needs such as food, water, shelter, energy, and health in a way that is symbiotic and synergistic with the Earth’s natural ecosystems. More recently permaculture is incorporating an ever-growing landscape of diverse fields and skill sets and is being applied towards areas such as business, government, economics, group process, social systems, inner work, and spiritual practice.
