*Extend your living space outdoors and create a destination for experiencing the fire of life!

Join Michael "Meka" Bunch for a fun filled weekend of learning to build an outdoor, wood fired earthen oven from start to finish! Come prepared to get your hands in the mud and leave with a basic working knowledge of materials and techniques to create your own oven from local materials. Highly sculptural, Cob is durable and ideal for making any shape you desire, from classic simplicity to wild imaginative forms.
We will discuss:
*Time-tested proportions *Construction techniques and modern developments. *Chimneys *Drum Style Ovens *Firing up the oven. *Tools *Tips for cooking anything from pizza & quick breads, to roasted vegetables & whole meals.

These will be full days, balancing theory and hands on experience, so bring a notebook, play clothes, clean clothes for after, water bottle and food to share for two lunches and one dinner.

Bring Lunch to Share : : Morning & Afternoon Tea/Snacks will be provided : : Evening Meal will be Potluck or Eat Out in Bolinas

MICHAEL BUNCH, a.k.a "MEKA", attended his first Cob Cottage Co. workshop in 1996 and proceeded to build a two-story Cob house in Wolf Creek, Oregon, offering workshops during the building process. For the last four years, Meka has been demonstrating and teaching natural building techniques via public events & workshops, locally, and internationally, with Kleiwerks International (www.Kleiwerks. org), creating benches, garden walls, kiosks, earthen ovens, and Rumford fire-places. He has taught at four of the annual Village Building Convergence events in Portland, Oregon and continues to do freelance work everywhere.
